Our Maidenhead track has become one of the UK’s most accessible karting venues, following a £17,000 grant from Wooden Spoon, a charity dedicated to transforming the lives of children and young people.
The funding has enabled our charity Absolutely Together to install a new disabled toilet and purchase a specialist hoist, supporting those with physical needs to safely access our track and adapted go karts.

The accessibility upgrades also mean our Maidenhead venue can expand its Together Karting programme. The initiative, delivered through Absolutely Together, already provided free karting sessions every Saturday morning for children and young adults with additional needs. It will now introduce weekly community sessions every Tuesday, alongside additional school group provision.
These enhancements are set to deliver more than 2,000 additional experiences each year for young people, increasing the programme’s impact in the local community.
We are incredibly grateful to Wooden Spoon for their continued support in helping us to create one of the most inclusive karting facilities in the country. The grant means more children and young adults with additional needs will be able to experience the thrill of karting in a safe, supported and fully accessible environment.
The Wooden Spoon charity has been a long-standing supporter of our mission to make karting accessible for all. Previous grants have funded twin-seat go-karts at our Maidenhead and Bristol tracks, enabling families to share the karting experience together.
