Changes to Government guidance

At 5pm on Friday 9th April, without any prior consultation or warning, the Government guidance changed to list Adult Go-Karting as an activity that cannot re-open until 17th of May. Until this date we had been given assurances by the National Karting Association and Environmental Health that it was safe and legal to re-open as planned on the 12th of April.

We therefore regret to inform you that Absolutely Karting is currently not taking bookings for dates before 17th May

We understand how frustrating this news is to our customers, especially those that already had bookings with us over this period where we must now close. Also to our incredible staff who have worked hard to get our venues safe and ready for your return.

We are extremely disappointed that the Government has changed the guidance with less than 1 working day’s notice and with no prior consultation or warning. What is even more disappointing is that our venues are incredibly safe due to the nature of PPE, ventilation, and venue size that is part of our sport even before the additional measures were put in place to keep you safe whilst with us.

We will be contacting everyone who has booked to reschedule your booking.  We really do appreciate your patience and support for our charity during this difficult time and are seeking clarity on what children’s activities we are allowed to continue with safely at our venues.

Good News – Karting is a socially distanced sport

We have been awarded the “Good to Go” COVID-19 Certificate by the National Tourist Organisation and Our safety measure include:

  • Using state of the art virus killing technology on all race equipment after each use
  • Asking all visitors and staff to wear a mask unless medically exempt (and we will provide one for you if you forget!)
  • Thoroughly cleaning & disinfect the entire venue daily
  • Operating a one way system wherever possible
  • Having a thorough hand washing protocol for our team.
  • Ventilating the entire building continuously with industrial extractor units
  • Providing hand gel to all staff and guests
  • Limiting the amount of people allowed in our buildings
  • We Will continue to operate above and beyond the guidance and laws to ensure the safety of our guests and team

We do ask that you follow the rules laid out here to ensure COVID-19 is not able to spread in our facility.

  • All visitors must wear a mask when visiting our venues.
  • Groups that are not from the same household or support bubbles will need to remain socially distanced at all times when not seated in a kart
  • On the track different groups are able to race together where they are booked onto the same session, but must not socialise off track
  • No items of food or drink can be brought onto our premises

Our priority is keeping our customers and staff safe. We are taking some additional safety measures, and need you to help out as well!
