Get expert go karting tuition at our Race Academy
For kids who have dreams of becoming the next Lewis Hamilton, our go karting Race Academy programme is perfect. Young drivers – or cadets as we like to call them – will receive a course of go karting lessons from our expert and highly experienced instructors that will put them well on the way to becoming Grand Prix winners of the future!
Through the programme, cadets will learn:
• Basic and advanced karting skills
• Dynamics of the kart
• Race craft
• Safety practices
• Techniques to improve skills and speed
During the final go karting lesson all cadets will go head-to-head in a competitive graduation race, where they can put everything they’ve learnt into practice. They’ll also receive their Absolutely Race Licence which allows them to compete in Absolutely Karting events. Cadets can also enjoy discounts on future karting sessions.
Parents are welcome to hang out in our lounges and viewing areas and watch the progress their child makes every week.

Race Academy FAQs
The price is from £320 depending on whether you sign up for our Bristol or Maidenhead Race Academy programme.
Yes – cadets will be provided with a safety jumpsuit and helmet rental.
No, definitely not. They just need to have an interest in and enthusiasm for go karting. Our go karting lessons are run by our dedicated instructors and the programme starts with the basics and ends with advanced techniques. By the end, our cadets will have shaved off seconds from their fastest lap time.
Absolutely, safety is paramount. Before your child even steps foot into a kart, they will have a lesson about safety, and after that safety instructions are continuously reiterated before the start of each lesson.
90% of the fastest young drivers who race at Absolutely Karting learned their skills through our Race Academy, so yes it really does help kids learn how to drive like a professional at a young age.
At our Bristol venue, we run courses every half term.
Bristol Half Term ‘Crash’ Course: Mon-Fri & Sun 10:00-12:00.
At our Maidenhead venue, we run regular six week courses.
Maidenhead Six Week Courses: Every Sunday 09:00-11:00.
We run Race Academy at both of our Bristol and Maidenhead venues.
Cadets will learn from our expert and highly experienced instructors. Lessons will include dynamics of the kart, race craft, safety and advanced techniques to improve your skills and speed. Each lesson will begin with a presentation on the days lesson and each lesson will have cadets on the circuit for 35-45 minutes. At the end of the course, cadets will compete in a graduation race and will be presented with a licence to race the 1000m circuit and exclusive graduate events. Children need to be aged between 8 and 13 years old and be over 1.3m tall. Children above the age of 13 years old will use our Adult Karts.
Yes. Class sizes are limited so pre-booking is essential to guarantee your cadet racer a place in the starting line-up.

Free car park outside. 25 minutes on the track for £28.00. You will need to buy (£7) or rent (£5) a balaclava and gloves. The only reason I didn’t go with 5 stars was because they ask you to be there quite early and we didn’t get to try the upper track. We only got to run at the bottom but that was pretty good. It was small number of people who done it with us (6 in total) so there wasn’t too many on the track and that was good
